Dr. Joshua Yanoviak had a great mentor while growing up: his orthodontist. Not only did he help Dr. Yanoviak have confidence in his smile, but this orthodontist also ignited Dr. Yanoviak’s passion for dentistry and his desire to serve in the United States Air Force.
With his fire lit, Dr. Yanoviak attended Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry. After dental school, he was admitted to a United States Air Force residency at Eglin AFB, FL, pursuing a certification in Advanced Education General Dentistry. Upon completion of the residency, Dr. Yanoviak served as Clinical Element Chief at Altus AFB, OK, overseeing the functions of the dental clinic and ensuring the dental health of over 1400 active duty members plus families and retirees. It was during this time that Dr. Yanoviak was awarded the 97th Medical Group Company Grade Officer (CGO) twice and nominated to Air Education Training Command’s (AETC) Clinical Dentist of the Year.
It is difficult for Dr. Yanoviak to choose one “favorite” aspect of dentistry, but he really enjoys surgery. He also appreciates how quickly technology is changing dentistry. For this reason, Dr. Yanoviak also enjoys digital treatment planning and using same-day milling technology. He is also certified in IV and oral sedation as well as advanced care life support.
Dr. Yanoviak is a big believer in giving back to the world. He is a World Poverty Advocate with Compassion International and an ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor. He has participated with Mission of Mercy (MoM) dental outreaches and has a partnership with Advocates for Africa.
Dr. Yanoviak and his wife, Brittney, are quite fond of their rescue fur children, Kota and Kimber. Kota is a “bordador” (border collie and labrador mix) and Kimber is whippet/lab mix. All four of them enjoy hiking and exploring nature. Dr. Yanoviak likes to unwind by engaging his musical side, whether it’s enjoying multiple genres of music or tickling the ivories on the piano.
