Whiten Your Smile, Brighten Your Days

Sometimes small changes can have a profound impact on your life.

For example, drinking fewer soft drinks would be good for our health. Health experts tell us that soft drinks raise our risk of diabetes, weight gain, and related health complications. From a dental perspective, soft drinks contain acids that can eat away at the enamel on your teeth.

Every sip also adds to the stains on your smile, which can affect your mental health as well. When you feel embarrassed by yellow teeth, you may try to prevent other people from seeing your smile. Even if you aren’t ready to give up your favorite carbonated beverage just yet, Advanced Dental Center could help you get rid of your soft drink stains.

With professional teeth whitening, you could have a bright smile once again. To make an appointment at our Florence, SC dental office, call (843) 588-1919.

Get It Right the First Time

You’ve seen the commercials. You’ve probably seen them on the shelves in the toothpaste aisle, too. Whitening toothpaste, whitening strips, whitening gels, whitening rinses … how well do they really work?

Based on what we’ve heard from our own patients, these often don’t work as well as they expected. So many people have come to our office after they tried a commercial product because it didn’t give them the sparkling white teeth they were expecting to see when they looked in the mirror.

As more “whitening” products have been introduced, the American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs did its own research on them. Their findings could help explain why so many people have been disappointed with commercial whitening.

Whitening toothpaste can help remove some surface stains, but it won’t get below the surface to remove deep stains from your smile.

Many strips and gels, however, do contain bleaching agents that can get below the surface. However, the concentration of those ingredients is a fraction of what you’ll find in professional products.

In other words, they can do more than toothpaste, but they aren’t nearly as effective as what you can get at a dental office.

See the Difference for Yourself

If you are interested in a truly whiter smile, then you should start with a consultation with one of our doctors. We can examine your teeth and let you know if whitening is a good option for you. (If whitening won’t work, you can still create a bright smile with dental veneers.)

For people who are good candidates for whitening, we offer great options. For the fastest results, we offer an in-office treatment that can make your smile significantly bright in a single visit to our office.

If you prefer to do your whitening on your own time, we also offer DayWhite and NiteWhite options. With these options, you will receive custom-fitted trays, which keep the whitening gel where it will be most effective.

You also can sign up for our lifetime teeth whitening plan. This way, you can receive a new tube of whitening gel when you visit us twice a year for your regular dental cleanings.
