At Advanced Dental Center, our capable staff is committed to helping you keep your smile for life. Our Florence, SC team values ongoing education to keep their skills sharp and up-to-date. We often bring speakers to our office to educate us on the latest dental innovations and developments, and we study with other professionals for advanced training. To help our dentists offer a full spectrum of services to our patients, members of our team have trained in mini dental implants, CEREC, dental sedation, and more. Collectively, our team loves improving patients’ lives through improving their smiles!
Alex has been with us since 2004. In addition to his business skills, he has an artistic side, with a degree in English, philosophy, and art. He meets patients’ dental needs by first seeking to understand and then to be understood. He enjoys family time, especially with his grandson.
Involved in dentistry since 2010, Kelly joined our practice in 2016. She is certified in CPR and has completed training with the Scheduling Institute. A skilled insurance specialist, she has great customer service skills. A mother of two young boys, she enjoys hiking and being outdoors.
A dental hygienist since 2005, Denise has worked at our office since 2006. Her training includes local filtration anesthesia, CPR, OSHA, mini dental implants, and infection control. She loves helping people overcome dental fear. Away from work, she likes just about anything to do with sun and water.
Kasie worked as a surgical technologist for an oral surgeon before becoming a dental hygienist. A member of our team since 2010, she is licensed in local filtration anesthesia and inhaled sedation administration. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, especially if it involves riding motorcycles.
A registered dental hygienist, Luanne has been licensed since 1978. She’s been on our team since 2007. She enjoys making her patients feel good by cleaning their teeth and educating them on dental home care. She treasures family time, especially at the lake or the beach.
Ashley has an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Florence-Darlington Technical College. A Colgate Oral Health Advisor, she appreciates how smiles are unique to every person, much like a fingerprint. She volunteers with Give Kids A Smile, America’s ToothFairy Smile Drive, Dental Access Days, and Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures.
A registered dental hygienist for more than 40 years, Jean is a graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College. Her favorite part of the job is meeting people and helping steer patients on their roads to dental health. She has three children and three grandchildren and loves spending time with them.
A registered dental hygienist, Raven has worked with our team since 2012. She has completed training in medical emergencies, infection control, and diagnosing and managing periodontal (gum) disease. She enjoys helping our patients smile with confidence again. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and her dogs.
Shelli has been in dentistry and working with the Advanced Dental Center team since 2000. She finds it fulfilling to change a patient’s life for the better by fixing their smile. A mother of three, she loves spending time with her family, especially if it involves visiting the river.
Shannon has been working in dentistry since the late 1980s, primarily as a dental assistant. She joined our team in 1998 and works mostly with Dr. Visel. She is married with two grown daughters and a precious granddaughter. Her hobbies include gardening, baking, and visiting the beach.
A dental assistant since 2012, Lorie joined our team in 2018. A graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College, she is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board and holds certifications in CPR, dental radiology, and OSHA. She enjoys shopping, outdoor activities, and watching TV, especially with family and friends.
A dental assistant since 2017, Danielle joined us in 2018. She has a certificate in expanded duty dental assisting from Florence-Darlington Technical College and is certified in CPR, dental radiology, and OSHA. She enjoys spending free time outdoors, especially with her family and her animals.
Serena began working with us in 2018, shortly after becoming involved in dentistry. She loves being part of the process that results in people regaining their confident smiles. Away from the office, she enjoys trail riding her horses, dancing, and hunting.
A certified dental assistant in South Carolina and Mississippi, Debbie has been working in dentistry for almost 30 years. She is also certified in phlebotomy, CPR, sedation monitoring, and dental radiology and has received training in mini dental implants. Her hobbies include camping and hiking, especially at state parks.
Elizabeth has been working in our office since 2012. She is an expanded duties dental assistant, so she can perform duties such as applying dental sealants or monitoring inhaled sedation. She enjoys changing our patients’ insecurities into confidence with the help of her work family.
A dental assistant since 1977, Robin has worked with our team since 1980. She is certified in CPR and dental radiology and has completed advanced training in mini dental implants. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially if it involves the beach, the lake, or watching her son play baseball.
A graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College who is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board, Freda enjoys working with new technology and learning new dental techniques. She has trained in CEREC, Six Month Smiles orthodontics, and mini dental implants. Her hobbies include traveling and spending time with loved ones.
In addition to being a certified massage therapist, Patsy is a personal trainer, hair braiding stylist, and phlebotomist. She loves meeting people from all walks of life and making a difference in their lives through her work. She enjoys singing in her church choir and spending time with her family.
A graduate of Florence-Darlington Technical College, Destiny went into dentistry because of her own unpleasant experiences at the dentist. Helping patients overcome anxiety is especially important to her. She teaches local nursing home residents about oral hygiene. She also loves watching her sons play baseball and football.
