For over three and a half decades, the American Dental Association has been spreading awareness on the importance of oral hygiene for kids during National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) in February. If you’d like some help teaching your kiddos about oral health, call Advanced Dental Center at (843) 588-1919 to book a family dentistry visit with us!
For your convenience, we offer dental treatment options for all the smiles in your family, big or small. Whether you need to book a simple dental cleaning and exam or a complex procedure of some sort, we can most likely provide the options you need. We serve patients in Florence as well as Darlington, Sumter, Hartsville, and other surrounding areas.
Collectively, our dentists have been practicing dentistry for over 200 years! We’ve helped improve the health and appearance of countless smiles in that time. The quality of service we provide has not gone overlooked by our patients. Readers of the Florence Morning News chose our dental practice as the best dentist in the annual Best of the Pee Dee awards in 2015 and 2017.
Our dental office is easy-to-find, centrally located, and has ample parking so you won’t have to deal with finding a spot for your vehicle. We also accept a variety of payment forms, including options for in-house interest-free payment plans that we can tailor to you.
So you don’t have to screw up your work schedule or keep your kiddos out of school, we offer late appointments until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Compared to nine-to-five dentists, we also open a little earlier. You can book an appointment with us starting at 8:00 a.m. every weekday.
Book A Dental Visit For Your Kids During NCDHM
The awareness campaign of NCDHM has helped educate millions of Americans about oral hygiene. Each year, the ADA makes various teaching materials available for free and some for a moderate fee through the ADA catalog. You can learn more about these options on the ADA site.
When you bring your little ones into our Florence, SC dentist office, our kid-friendly team will do all we can to make them feel comfortable and welcomed. We want to help your children establish a positive association with the dentist and with oral hygiene in general for years to come.
Just like adults, children of a certain age should visit the dentist every six months for a dental cleaning and exam. During these visits, we will clean your kiddo’s teeth using special instruments and check for signs of potential dental problems. Thanks to our digital sensors, we can even catch signs of cavities and other issues that might otherwise go overlooked.
We have also invested in some other cutting-edge dental tools to examine the oral health of patients. We can even give your child a clear, close-up view of what we’re talking about thanks to our intraoral camera. This is especially helpful for patients who are a little nervous because it helps them better understand what we’re doing.
Along with cleaning your child’s teeth and addressing any dental problems as they arise, we can also help educate your kid on oral health. If your child is not already, they should be practicing good oral hygiene habits. We will happily provide suggestions to make oral hygiene fun for your kids so you won’t have to fight them on it.
To maintain good oral health, your kid should:
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste to clean their teeth, gums, and tongue for two minutes at a time, twice a day
- Floss between all of their teeth at least once a day
- Maintain routine dental cleanings and checkups every six months
For a more relaxing experience at our office, we provide various comfort options for patients of all ages. For example, your child can cozy up with a warm blanket and soft pillow while we work on improving the health and beauty of their smile.
We will listen closely to your child and answer any questions they have. We want to provide the best experience possible and maintaining clear and open communication is just one way we ensure that for your little one. By showing your child that visiting the dentist is a good (and even fun) experience, we’ll help them improve and maintain great oral health in the years to come.
