Enjoy Big Benefits With Mini Dental Implants in Florence
Get the strong, functional smile you deserve with mini dental implants in Florence. Our practice is a member of the Mini Dental Implant Centers of America®, which means our staff uses state-of-the-art equipment and has received extensive training on mini dental implant placement.

As an implant dentist, I use conventional implants when appropriate, but oftentimes, mini dental implants provide a solution for folks who have not been able to get implants in the past, or they're also a very good anchorage system for folks who have loose and poor-fitting dentures. Mini implants help me replace teeth in a functional way. It's a simple procedure. It's a very low impact procedure to do. Essentially, we're placing a pinhole, put a small screw in, and anchor our denture into place to help it be more stable and secure. So you can chew the kind of food you like, not worry about teeth slipping and moving.
When a person has lost their teeth or they're missing teeth, over time, they will continue to lose the bone that supported the teeth in the first place. And as that bone is lost and continued to slip away, the implants that the dentures that are now being worn become less well-fitting. They get loose, they move around, and that continues to get worse over time. Teeth and dental implants will help maintain that job on. So it helps to prevent you from losing more jawbone to that process of just natural bone loss due to the absence of teeth.
If you're suffering with loose, poor-fitting dentures that slip, that fall out, that don't work the way you feel like they should, come and see me. I'd be happy to take a look. I think we can help you out to get those dentures secure, get to where you can eat and function like you desire.
Mini implants allow you to enjoy most of the same advantages as full-size dental implants, such as durability and preservation of your jaw structure. They also:
- Are less invasive than full-size implants. You can get a bone graft or other oral surgery procedure to prepare your jaw for a full-size dental implant if your jaw lacks bone density, but miniature implants don’t usually require any additional surgery.
- Heal more quickly. After getting full-size implants, you must usually wait a few months for the area to heal before we can attach replacement teeth. With minis, we can usually load them with a dental crown, dental bridge, or dentures right away. You won’t have to come to our office as often for us to check on your progress, either.
- Don’t take as long to place as full-size implants. The placement procedure is shorter and less complicated. You’ll probably only need local anesthesia, although we can give you dental sedation if you want it.
- Are less expensive than full-size implants. In many cases, these smaller dental implants are about half as costly as their full-size counterparts.

Mini Implants May Help You Avoid a Bone Graft
Dental implants are a popular tooth replacement option at our dental practice. But they won’t work for everyone. One of the requirements for implants is a strong jaw. It’s difficult for your dentist to place implants if your jaw lacks bone density or if age or health issues might slow healing after the dental implant procedure.
That doesn’t mean dental implants are an impossibility, though. Ask us if mini implants are a good option for you. They are smaller, so they can be placed in areas where larger implants simply aren’t possible.
We’ll evaluate you using advanced technology like 3D imaging and determine if dental implants – either full-size implants or mini dental implants in Florence – will work well for you. Call Advanced Dental Center at 843-627-4076 to schedule a consultation.
